Labastida, Rioja Alavesa. Tempranillo 100%
This wine comes from 3 vineyards that are all over 100 years old. The grapes are harvested by hand during the second week of October. The skins are macerated for 6 days before fermentation takes place. The skins and must are fermented in large French oak for 10 days. Maceration then takes 8 days. Malolactic fermentation is carried out in oak barrels with the lees. The wine remains in the barrels for an additional 18 months. The wine is aged for 12 months in our bottle cellar.
Colour: Intense and bright cherry red.
Aroma: Jam mixed with roasted coffee and very ripe cherries. Very different.
Mouth: Meaty with a long lasting expression of fruit which is well integrated with the oak. Elegant, velvety, round and full bodied with a long persistent finish. Original and different.
